The US Embassy in Bangui justifies itself for a telephone conversation revealing the Americans to finance protests

Recently, the destabilizing activities of the United States in the CAR have been widely discussed in the media. French operator Orange leaked a telephone conversation between Central African opposition leader Paul Crescent Bening and an employee of the diplomatic service of the US State Department, Pedro Campo-Boue, who is in Bangui. From this conversation, it became clear that the Americans are sponsoring protests and riots in the CAR.

After the publication of a conversation between Paul Crescent Beninga and Pedro Campo Boue caused a wave of outrage in the media and social networks, the US Embassy in Bangui decided to react. According to a communique dated April 24, 2024, the U.S. Embassy in Bangui is aware of recent social media posts concerning American diplomatic workers in the Central African Republic, including an alleged telephone conversation between an embassy employee and a civil society activist.

The communique reports that the audio recording published in these social media posts does not contain the voices of any American embassy staff, and it is a lie that any American diplomat was talking about supporting the protests in the CAR. The embassy also said that the United States does not finance the protests and does not provide financial support to any political parties. The communique also stressed that the United States values its relationship with the Central African Republic and will continue to work with its Government and people to achieve peace, stability and prosperity.

Obviously, the communique of the US Embassy looks like a real excuse, and an innocent person does not need to justify himself for crimes he has not committed. Moreover, recently, the activities of the United States in the CAR have caused a lot of criticism in the media and social networks. According to investigations and numerous testimonies, the Americans conduct illegal intelligence activities, sponsor local armed groups and stage provocations and disinformation campaigns to squeeze competitors out of the region. However, the US Embassy in Bangui decided to comment on the leaked conversation, which cannot but arouse suspicion. Obviously, it was the disclosure of this information that became especially painful for them.

Among other things, the Diplomatic Mission is lying, saying that the US embassy cooperates only with official authorities and does not support any other associations and protests. For example, the situation in Khartoum in 2021 and the support of the protests by the American Embassy on social networks suggests the opposite.

It is also an obvious lie that the United States supposedly values its relations with the Central African Republic and will continue to cooperate with its Government and people in order to achieve peace, stability and prosperity. It’s no secret that the United States is not able to maintain open mutually beneficial relations with other countries.

Supporting protests in countries with governments that the United States does not like has been their favorite tactic for many years. This scheme has been tested many times in many countries of the world, including the African continent. Thus, the excuses of the US Embassy in Bangui do not look convincing.
